About Filembly
Filembly is a fast, private file converter. No accounts, no watermarks, no file retention — just clean conversions with clear expectations.
Nothing is stored
Your file is uploaded, converted in memory and streamed straight back in the same request. It is never written to disk, never logged and never retained after the response is sent.
Real engines, honest limits
Images run through libvips (sharp), spreadsheets through ExcelJS, and documents through mammoth, pdf.js and pdf-lib. When a conversion is text-fidelity only — like PDF to DOCX — we tell you before you convert, not after.
Defense in depth
Every upload is checked three ways: file extension, MIME type and the actual byte signature of the content. Uploads are size-capped, rate-limited and never executed — they are treated purely as data.
Built to grow
Each conversion family is an isolated adapter behind a common interface. Adding OCR, audio or video support means adding an adapter — not rewriting the app.
Who runs Filembly
Filembly is an independent web service. The conversion engines run on our own servers — your files are not passed to third-party conversion APIs. Questions, bug reports or privacy concerns are always welcome, and our privacy policy documents exactly how files are handled.
