Filembly

Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-22

The short version: Filembly sets two analytics cookies and nothing else. There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, and nothing that identifies you personally.

Cookies we set

Filembly uses Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — which tools people reach for, and where something is going wrong. It sets two first-party cookies:

  • _ga — tells one browser apart from another, so repeat visits are not counted as new people. Expires after two years.
  • _ga_55CJ5V6SR5 — keeps track of the current visit for this Analytics property. Expires after two years.

What analytics records

Page views, plus events describing what happened — for example that a PNG to WEBP conversion completed, with a coarse file-size bucket. Analytics never receives file contents, filenames, or anything you upload.

Google processes this data on our behalf and may use your IP address to derive an approximate location, which is recorded as a country or city rather than the address itself.

Cookies we do not set

There are no advertising cookies, no remarketing tags, no social media pixels and no cross-site trackers. If advertising is ever added to the site, this page and the privacy policy will be updated before it goes live.

Local storage

Separately from cookies, the site stores your light/dark theme and language preferences in your browser's local storage. These values stay on your device, are never sent to our servers, and you can remove them at any time by clearing your browser's site data. An anonymous analytics identifier is also stored there, used only to count visitors — it identifies your browser, never you.

How to opt out

You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the converter and every tool will keep working exactly as before. Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across every site that uses it.
