How your files are handled

When you convert a file, it is uploaded over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), processed entirely in your server request's memory, and the converted result is streamed straight back to your browser in the same response.

• Files are never written to disk — there are no temporary files and no storage buckets.
• Files are never retained: when the response finishes, the data ceases to exist on our side.
• File contents and filenames are never logged.
• Files are never opened, executed, read by humans, or used to train anything.

What we do process, briefly and in memory

• The file's bytes, for the duration of the conversion only.
• Your IP address, held in server memory for rate limiting (to prevent abuse) and discarded within minutes.
• Technical error logs containing a random job ID and the conversion type (for example "pdf to docx failed") — never file contents or names.

Accounts and personal data

Filembly has no user accounts, no sign-up, and collects no names, email addresses or payment details. We hold no database of users or files.

Cookies and local storage

Filembly sets no cookies. Your light/dark theme preference is saved in your browser's local storage, on your device only — it is never transmitted to us. See the cookie policy for details.

Analytics

If analytics are enabled on this site, they record aggregate, anonymous usage events such as "a PNG-to-WEBP conversion completed" with a coarse file-size bucket. Analytics events never include file contents, filenames or any personal data.

Third parties

Conversions are performed by software running on our own servers. Your files are not sent to third-party conversion services.
